Abstract

The influence of the flame-retardant system composition on the initiation of cyclization during pyrolysis and combustion to produce flame-retardant polyacrylonitrile fibers was confirmed by the reduction of the initial oxidation temperature, rate of degradation, magnitude of exotherms, increased yield of carbonized structures, and oxygen index.
