Potentiometric Sensor for Povidone-Iodine Determination

Adiiodobromide sensor with a plasticized polyvinylchloride membrane was developed. The sensor contained an ionic associate of diiodobromide and rhodamine B and had a linear response for I₂Br^- concentrations of 10^–6 – 10^–1 M with an electrode function slope characteristic of singly charged ions. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode for potentiometric determination of povidone-iodine in pharmaceuticals.
