Recovery of Rare Metals from High-Boiling Petroleum Fractions

The possibility of recovering compounds of rare and other valuable metals from bottom ash from the combustion of high-boiling petroleum fractions (HBF BA) by chlorination in a fluidized bed reactor has been shown. The reactivity of the main HBF BA components has been found to decrease in the order: MoO₃ > V₂O₅ > NiO > Fe₂O₃.The conditions for running the process to enable a high rate of recovery of rare and other valuable metals have been determined.
