Abstract
The article aims to reveal the peculiarities of the discursive representation of the commemorative event as a basic cognitive unit of commemoration. To achieve the aim the author uses general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, etc.), frame analysis, frame modelling and types of analysis of language phenomena (linguostylistic, discursive analyses, etc.). The research material is 750 English-language online texts published from 2019 to 2025 by American, British and Canadian politicians. It is revealed that within a commemorative event the collective memory, as such unrepresented mentally, is a product of construction of reality in discourse. The author reveals discursive mechanisms of forming the collective memory in commemoration – mythologisation, stereotypisation and recursion.
