Abstract
The paper discusses basic approaches to implementation of a graphical user interface (GUI) as virtual two- and three-dimensional environments for human-computer interaction. A design approach to virtual four-dimensional environments based on special visual effects is proposed. Functional capabilities of the FDC package that implements an environment prototype and principles of user operation are given.
