Abstract
A method for detection of the optic disc boundaries in fundus images is suggested. The method is based on integration of luminance samples along the diagonals. A modification of the method based on an algorithm of luminance sample integration in a fan pattern is also suggested. To reduce the effect of blood vessels on the results of integration, images are processed in the red channel. The method suggested in this work can be used for automating the description of fundus images in ophthalmology.
