Abstract

Methods for calculating the disintegrating capacity of grinding bodies in a horizontal planetary mill with external and internal rolling of drums for the main types of stress, such as compression, collision, and abrasion are described. A quantitative assessment is made of the disintegrative action of grinding bodies on the material being ground. For the disintegrating stresses generated in the planetary mill, the maximum values at the typical points of the load segment are calculated. The calculation results for various angular speeds of the grinding drum are given. It is established that in all types of loading the disintegrating stresses do not exceed the ultimate strength of the material.
