Calculation and Modeling of the Temperature Conditions of Electrodynamic Chemical Reactors

Аннотация

A method of calculating the temperature distribution in reaction devices using electromagnetic radiation in the UHF range as the energy source to realize the reaction is presented. It is shown that when carrying out catalytic reactions, the electromagnetic radiation absorbed by the substance of the catalyst creates volumetric heat sources in the catalyst the energy of which is transmitted to the reaction mixture in the gas phase through processes of heat exchange. The technological operating conditions of electrodynamic reactors in which a uniform temperature fi eld needed to perform chemical transformations is created are determined. A comparison of the computed and experimental data for the catalytic reactions of dehydration of butenes is carried out and it is shown that the proposed mathematical model supplies a sufficiently precise description of the actually occurring processes.

Recommendations on Selection and Design of Pulsation Dampeners for Oil-Gas Field Separating Plants

Processes in pulsation dampeners are described and recommendations on the selection and design of pulsation dampeners are given. Pulsation dampeners should be installed before the separators or heat exchangers at the inlet of the first separation stage. Pulsation dampeners are not needed before other separation stages. Three-pipe pulsation dampeners with a Venturi nozzle at the inlet are installed before the separators that have separate liquid and gas inlets. A Venturi nozzle is installed before the separators and heat exchangers that have a single mixture inlet. The flow area of the Venturi nozzle neck should be smaller than the flow area of the pulsation dampener–throttle track leading to the next separation stage.

Here is an analysis of the quality requirements for basic nitrogenous fertilizers specified in the national, local, and international regulatory documents. An industrial plant has been developed for producing very high quality ammonium nitrate and calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) granules with a capacity of up to 80 thousand tons/year by pelletization. The necessary quality characteristics of the granules can be achieved by using the proposed reconstruction of the active units without stopping their operation.

A description of the installation for adiabatic compression in a cyclic process is presented here. Experimental results of conversion of light hydrocarbons by this process are given. New structural design solutions and ceramic coatings obtained by applying the technology of microarc oxidation were used in the compression unit of the chemical compression reactor (the piston–cylinder assembly). This allowed us to forego the use of compression rings and lubricant, to achieve a high compression ratio, and to obtain the pressure and temperature required in the reaction zone for oxidative conversion.

Effective methods for dispersing carbon nanotubes in organic solvents and liquid polymeric media were analyzed. The relationship of these methods for improving the operational performance of nanomodified polymer composites was studied. It was shown that the conditions necessary to create such materials are a small size and a distribution of carbon nanofiller particles as uniform as possible in the liquid polymeric matrix. The tendency of the carbon nanofiller to aggregate prevented the preparation of stable dispersions in water and organic solvents. Therefore, effective methods for facilitating aggregate disintegration, including use of low-frequency ultrasound, are being actively pursued.

This paper presents the results of experimental studies of significantly non-stationary processes of droplet shape change for various liquids widely used in the chemical and oil industries (kerosene, ethanol, water) as they move in gas flows (including high temperature gas flows). Characteristic differences between the main deformation parameters of single droplets and those in a flow of mist spray were identified. Average and absolute aerodynamic drag coefficients for liquid droplets during deformation were determined.

The results of experimental investigations of hydraulic characteristics of an axial particle-suspended gas flow in a cylindrical channel enlarged suddenly upon interaction with radial gas jets are reported. The flow velocity variation along the pneumatic pipe height and the pattern of particle motion in the pneumatic pipe are studied. It is shown that hydraulic resistance to a flow containing solids depends essentially on the radial gas jet velocity and mass solid concentration.

It is shown that the efficiency of the regenerative cycle may be increased while simultaneously increasing the degree of increase of pressure in a compressor and the degree of regeneration. For this purpose, we consider gas turbine plants that function in simple and compound cycles with intermediate air cooling in the compressor and its further warming in a regenerative heat exchanger with the use of the technique of regeneration of the heat of the waste gases in the turbine. Graphical relationships are constructed for use in determining the optimal degree of increase of pressure and degree of regeneration accompanied by an increase in the effective efficiency of the gas turbine plant cycle.

The packing is pressed by the end face of an axially moveable ring caused by a force created by the pressure of the compacted medium. The main packings used in biotrickling filters for air-gas purification are discussed and classified and new packings are offered in the present work. The packings are compared overall according to their geometrical characteristics. Changes of the filter-packing principal geometric characteristics (specific surface area, porosity, equivalent diameter) because of the growth of a biofilm over time are found experimentally. A new parameter, the modernized equivalent diameter considering the change of packing channel cross section due to biofilm growth, is introduced. Equations based on experimental data for calculating the total drag coefficients of the new packings are derived.
