Abstract
The structure of coatings deposited by coaxial laser surfacing of Ni3Al aluminide is studied. The effect of the surfacing parameters on the structure, geometry and hardness of the coatings is determined. The optimum modes of surfacing are shown to range within the laser energy input of 2 – 8 J/mm2 at the beam scanning speeds of 100 – 600 mm/min and powder feed of 3.8 g/min.
