Abstract
The first record of the rare deep-sea goblin shark, Mitsukurina owstoni, was reported from the waters of Morocco (Northwest Africa). Occurrences of this species have been recorded earlier from the waters of Madeira (over 1000 km to the north) and Senegal (over 800 km to the south of the place of our record).
