Abstract
Results are presented for field studies of the operation of metal screw piles in clay soil that is intended for the erection of foundations of rapidly erected temporary buildings. Experiments show that two-blade piles exhibit high effectiveness in plastic clay soil, as compared to piles with one blade. It was determined experimentally that introducing a second blade on the pile shaft increases its bearing capacity in plastic clay soil by up to 30% as compared to a one-blade screw pile.
