The VINITI Database of the RAS: Problems and Prospects

The state of the VINITI database of the RAS is discussed. It is proposed to focus on its Russian-language part, whose completeness is insufficient for such a national resource. The first problem that needs to be solved is to achieve the most complete reflection of Russian-language publications in all 28 subject areas of science and technology. The second problem is associated with the retrospective filling of the VINITI database RAS, which consists in its deepening until 1953, when the Abstract Journal began to be published.
