Abstract
The classification of post-traumatic instability of the knee joint is proposed. The types of instability are distinguished - simple, complex and combined. For complex instability, types are distinguished (anteromedial, anterolateral, posteromedial and posterolateral), which in turn are divided into degrees (according to the severity of displacement of the articular surfaces). Possible variants of displacements of articular surfaces are given. Clinical criteria for determining the form of instability (decompensated, subcompensated and compensated) are given
