Manufacture of Housing Joints in Solid-Fuel Rocket Engines

Abstract

To decrease the metal content in the housings of solid-fuel rocket engines, the metallic joint reinforcement may be replaced by plastic components. A device for the production of reinforcement blanks by winding is developed. This system ensures polymerization and machining of the plastic.
