Indecomposable p-Local Torsion-Free Groups with Quadratic and Cubic Splitting Fields
Abstract
Indecomposable torsion-free p-local Abelian groups of finite rank with quadratic and cubic splitting field K are characterized. As a consequence, for groups with quadratic splitting field K it is proved that K-decomposable p-local torsion-free Abelian groups of finite rank are isomorphic if and only if their endomorphism rings are isomorphic.

On Determinability of a Completely Decomposable Torsion-Free Abelian Group by its Automorphism Group
Abstract
In this paper, we consider the question of determinability of an Abelian group by its automorphism group in the class of completely decomposable torsion-free Abelian groups whose direct summands of rank 1 have idempotent types.

Normal Determinability of Torsion-Free Abelian Groups by Their Holomorphs
Abstract
We investigate torsion-free Abelian groups that are decomposable into direct sums or direct products of homogeneous groups normally defined by their holomorphs. Properties of normal Abelian subgroups of holomorphs of torsion-free Abelian groups are also studied.

Homomorphisms of Rank-1 Quotient Divisible Groups
Abstract
Torsion-free quotient divisible groups were introduced by R. Beaumont and R. Pierce in 1961. In 1998, A. A. Fomin and W. Wickless defined quotient divisible mixed groups and proved that categories of mixed quotient divisible groups and finite-rank torsion-free groups with quasihomomorphisms as morphisms are dual. In studying finite-rank torsion-free groups, rank-1 torsion-free groups play an important role, as many problems that are being solved in this class arise from them. This paper is devoted to the study of the homomorphism groups of rank-1 quotient divisible groups. The main achieved result is a full description of the homomorphism group in the language of characteristics.

On Some Classes of Hopfian Abelian Groups and Modules
Abstract
The hopficity property in a well-known class of Abelian groups—completely decomposable torsion-free groups—as well as in a class of modules over generalized matrix rings is studied. Examples of non-Hopfian completely decomposable torsion-free group are constructed.

On Finite Nonsolvable 5-Primary Groups with Disconnected Gruenberg–Kegel Graph Such that |π(G/F(G))| ≤ 4
Abstract
This paper describes the chief factors of the commutator subgroups of finite nonsolvable groups G with disconnected Gruenberg–Kegel graph having exactly 5 vertices in the case where G/F(G) is an almost simple n-primary group for n ≤ 4.

Radical Properties of Lattice ????-Ordered Algebras
Abstract
Kopytov’s ????-order for any algebras over a field is considered. Some results concerning relationships between l-prime radicals and prime radicals in lattice ????-ordered algebras over partially ordered fields are obtained. Also, the notion of a saturated system in an l-algebra is introduced and some properties of saturated systems of lattice ????-ordered algebras are presented.

Algebraically Compact Abelian Groups with UA-Rings of Endomorphisms
Abstract
A ring K is said to be a unique addition ring (UA-ring) if on its multiplicative semigroup (K, ·) it is possible to set only one binary operation of + turning (K, ·, +) into a ring. We call an Abelian group an End-UA-group if its endomorphism ring is a UA-ring. In this paper, End-UA-groups are found in a class of algebraically compact Abelian groups.

Self-Small SP-Groups with Clean Endomorphism Rings
Abstract
In this work, some aspects of cleanness of endomorphism rings of SP-groups are considered. These groups form one of the classes of mixed Abelian groups. The cleanness of endomorphism rings of self-small SP-groups is proved. Some sufficient conditions are found for the converse proposition to hold.

On the Quasi-Endomorphism Rings of Quasi-Decomposable Torsion-Free Abelian Groups of Rank 4 with a Strongly Indecomposable Quasi-Summand of Rank 2
Abstract
We obtain a description of quasi-endomorphism rings of torsion-free Abelian groups G of rank 4 that are quasi-decomposable into a direct sum of groups A1 and A2 of rank 1 and a strongly indecomposable group B of rank 2 in the case where the quasi-homomorphism group ℚ ⨂ Hom(B,A2) has rank 2.

On the Problem on Slow Entrance of a Flat Piston in Compressed Liquid
Abstract
In this paper, slow movement of a flat piston in compressed liquid is considered. The solution of the problem is constructed with two different methods: the first is based on the theory of Riemann’s simple waves, and the second on the small parameter method. Then we compare the results obtained by the two methods.
