Abstract

Configurations of artificial harbors and approach channels subject to deposition of sediments transported longshore by waves and currents are discussed. Configurations of structures and hydro- and litho-dynamic conditions that contribute to sediment deposition in harbors and channels are typified. An engineering method for evaluating sediment deposition depending on harbor configuration, geological conditions, behavior and intensity of currents is proposed.
