Aims and Scope
The aim of the journal is the public presentation of:
- new scientific results of fundamental, problem-oriented, exploratory scientific research to the scientific and technical community.
- analytical papers and reviews on topical scientific problems of machine building and machine science, as well as modern metallurgy and materials science, including the results of conferences and congresses on the identified scientific areas.
The objectives of the journal are to publish new results of scientific research carried out by scientists, graduate students, doctoral students from universities, the Russian Academy of Sciences, other scientific organizations of Russia, CIS countries and foreign universities. In the printed and electronic versions of the journal, much attention is paid to the preparation of the English-language part of scientific papers and reviews for presenting the results obtained by the authors to the world scientific community.

Ethical lines of journal policy
The Editorial Bound of journal “Obrabotka Metallov - Metal Working and Material Science” is guided in practice by the publication ethical lines developed on the base of following international standards, as the:
• principles accepted on the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity (Singapore, July 22–24, 2010);
• principles developed by The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
• regulations of the Chapter 70 “Copyright” from the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
The Editorial Bound of journal “Obrabotka Metallov - Metal Working and Material Science” does not accept for consideration and publication materials on military-scientific and military-technical topics.
