Abstract
The analysis of sectoral procedural codes has revealed a number of provisions that require clarification regarding the legal status of a forensic expert. The article substantiates the need to unify the articles of the sectoral procedural codes that regulate the activities of a forensic expert: a clear definition of the concept of a forensic expert, and the unification of the rights and obligations of a forensic expert.
The article discusses the feasibility of granting state forensic experts the procedural status of a forensic expert by virtue of their position.
