Abstract
The level of industrial development in Russia in the epoch of transition from export and raw materials economic model to the innovation one depends directly on staffing. However, Russian production industries often experience staff hunger, especially in the regions with unfavorable demographic situation. In the article the author considers Orenburg region as an example. The reasons for staff deficit are analyzed by comparing statistical and evaluation information on demographic situation and migration flows of working-age population, directions of training in education institutes and needs of production industries of the region. On the base of this analysis suggestions on staff recruitment and training for the regional industry are made.
