Abstract

In article basic elements of an image of Alexander II in representations of the Kuban Cossacks are presented. The author has come to a conclusion that despite existence of opposite sights, as a whole, Cossacks rested upon the tsar of hope and it has justified them. In particular, Alexander II has been favourite that unlike officials he was good, has released peasants from the serfdom, and also struggled for clearing of Slav brothers by religious Russian troops. The generated positive image of the tsar, certainly, was one of the reasons of deep grief of Cossacks in connection with Alexander's II murder.
