Аннотация
The purpose of this article is to consider the functions of conceptual metaphor, motivated by metonymy, in multimodal euphemistic complexes. The methods of conceptual analysis, hypothetico-deductive method, definitional analysis method, and method of cultural interpretation of linguistic units are used. The article describes the models of realization of metonymic concepts in the com position of metaphorical configurations that underlie the semantics of English multimodal euphemistic complexes. These models represent different types of correlation of conceptual metonymy and conceptual metaphor within a multimodal complex. Within the framework of all the identified models, regardless of their structure, a decrease in the degree of euphemistic potential of the resulting complex is observed in comparison with its individual elements.
