Resumo
The study is focused on the sociophonetic issues of English polymodal oral discourse. Alongside with the cognitive aspect of discourse, the sociophonetic perspective may identify the speaker’s personality, including both indexical and social role characteristics. By comparing the data obtained by different methods we can draw conclusions on their sociocultural relevance and methodological validity for teaching English communication skills.
