Abstract

INTRODUCTION. The research is devoted to the study of the Vasily Shukshin’s creative works reception in the Chinese literary process, which has not found sufficient coverage in the scientific literature. The history of reading and studying the works of V. Shukshin in China goes back more than fifty years. Today, the analysis of how the works of V.M. Shukshin are perceived and interpreted in the Chinese context is necessary. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the research activities of Chinese scientists and literary scholars studying aspects of V.M. Shukshin’s creative work.

MATERIALS AND METHODS. The material for the study are the publications of Chinese scientists and writers, reflecting the desire to understand the versatility of the talent of the creative heritage and the artistic world of Shukshin, as well as Chinese dissertations and monographs on V. Shukshin’s creative work. The sociological, cultural and historical methods are used, receptive criticism strategies and comparative analysis are applied. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. The analysis of the study of the V.M. Shukshin’s creative heritage by Chinese literary scholars demonstrates the scientific achievements of Chinese Shukshin studies as a result of its previous development.

CONCLUSION. The main themes in Shukshin’s works and approaches to studying his work used by Chinese researchers influenced by the multifaceted talent of the Altai writer are revealed. Chinese Shukshin studies are on a new upswing, which is expressed in the constant appeal of Chinese writers to comprehend all of Shukshin’s creative work as a part of world culture. The prospect of studying Shukshin’s creative work in China is seen in a deeper consideration of the reception of Russian literature in China.
