the article is devoted to the current problem of the influence of the unconscious on consciousness. Our unconscious part of the brain contains hundreds of times more information than the conscious component. Consciousness is a reflection of the objective material world in the human mind and the sum of various psychological processes. Consciousness and subconsciousness are two aspects of the unity of opposites that make up the psychological whole of a person. Consciousness is based on the existence of the subconscious and is its condition. The subconscious dominates and is limited by consciousness. Consciousness is the highest regulator of the subconscious and even of all psychological activity. Consciousness and subconsciousness influence each other and depend on each other, and are also transformed into each other under certain conditions. Consciousness has functional characteristics such as cognition, experience, purpose, control, thinking and creativity. It is the sum of all conscious psychological actions. The forms of consciousness are reason, logic, paradigm, judgment, reasoning, conscience and moral sense. Understanding the functional characteristics and forms of consciousness activity, it is easy to see that consciousness is the source of individual thoughts and power. The subconscious has such functional characteristics as cognition, experience, storage, learning, creation. It is the sum of all psychological actions that people do not know about. The forms of subconscious activity are intuition, emotion, conviction, encouragement, suggestion, imagination, general system, memory and creativity. The subconscious is not limited by time and space. It contains innate instincts, past feelings and wisdom of a person, present consciousness and knowledge, as well as thoughts and insights about the future and has enormous possibilities of transmission and reception. In this direction, it is necessary to work on the subconscious in order to form the necessary directions of consciousness.
