Editorial Policies
Aims and Scope
The scientific peer-reviewed journal "Innovative Instrument Engineering" is published with the aim of reflecting the results of research, scientific-practical and experimental activities of actively working scientists - doctors and candidates of science, young researchers - doctoral students, postgraduates, master's students, actively engaged in scientific and innovative activities both in the field of instrument engineering and in related fields.
The main topics of the journal:
- solving fundamental and applied technological problems of the production of information and measuring devices, systems and their elements based on the development of scientific foundations of technological support, improvement of existing ones, creation of new energy- and resource-saving, environmentally friendly industries, equipment, technical equipment, product quality management systems that meet the main priority areas of development of science and technology in the field of manufacturing, control, diagnostics and testing of devices while ensuring the accuracy and reliability of their operation;
- creation of scientific foundations for methods of analytical and non-destructive testing of the natural environment, substances, materials and products, development and implementation of devices, means and systems for environmental, analytical and non-destructive testing of these objects with improved characteristics;
- development of new and improvement of existing methods and means of measurement, solution of new scientifically substantiated organizational and methodological problems aimed at ensuring the unity and required accuracy of measurements, as well as the elimination and exclusion of negative consequences of unreliable measurement results;
- study of theoretical and practical problems, methods and technical means of cyber-physical systems, their metrological support, control and testing, creation and improvement of complex information-measuring and control systems, complexes for their control and testing within the framework of the digital transformation of the economy;
- solution of tasks and problems of harmonious development of production of goods and services based on modern methods of management and control of the activities of enterprises and organizations, information technologies, standards, methods of general quality management, environmental protection and promising innovative technologies;
- fundamental, applied, economic problems and tasks arising from the above.
In its activities, the editorial board of the journal is guided by international rules for the protection of copyright, standards of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as international publishing standards. All articles submitted to the editorial board undergo a strict selection by members of the editorial board and highly qualified reviewers

Peer Review Process
- All scientific articles submitted to the journal are subject to mandatory independent (internal) blind review.
- Manuscripts of articles submitted to the editorial board are preliminarily reviewed by the editorial board for compliance with the general requirements of the journal within 3 working days.
After the preliminary review, the manuscript of the article is transferred to the reviewer (the authors of the manuscripts are not informed about the identities of the reviewers).
- The reviewer is determined primarily from the editorial board /
editorial council, as well as from among leading Russian scientists, taking into account scientific specialization in the relevant fields of science. All reviewers are recognized
specialists in the subject of the materials being reviewed and have, within 3 years prior to the submission
of the peer-reviewed article, publications on its subject. 4. No more than two weeks are allocated for reviewing the article.
- The review must contain a qualified analysis of the article material and its objective assessment (highlighting its relevance, scientific novelty and practical significance). The reviewer gives a recommendation (positive or negative) regarding the possibility of publishing the article.
- The authors of rejected articles are sent a reasoned refusal within 10 days from the date of receipt of the negative review and its approval by the editor-in-chief.
The editors will not further enter into discussions or correspondence with the authors of rejected articles.
- If the received review contains recommendations for revising the manuscript of the article, the article is sent for revision and must be submitted for review again within the time frame specified by the editors.
- The presence of a positive review is not sufficient grounds for publishing the article. The final decision on the advisability of publication is made by the editorial board / editorial council.
- Reviews are stored at the publisher and editorial board for 5 years. The editorial board sends copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal to the authors of the submitted materials. The editorial board sends copies of reviews to the Ministry of Science and Higher. Education of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editorial board.
- After the editorial board / editorial council has made a decision
to accept an article for publication, the editor-in-chief of the journal informs the author of this.
