The guidelines present the classification, epidemiology, risk factors and risk groups of irritable bowel syndrome. Basic principles of clinical, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics in general practice, diagnostic criteria, principles of differential diagnosis are presented. The guidelines also present recommendations for pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment in general practice.Clinical guidelines were approved at the meeting of the profile committee on general practice of the Ministry of Health of Russia on 10.13.2015.
