Abstract

In acute anemia, as it is most often observed by obstetricians, the use of a solution of table salt is usually more likely than any other means, like camphor, coffee, warming, autotransfusion, can restore the patient's strength. The easiest way is to inject the solution under the skin; but it is very painful, absorption is often very slow, and the amount of fluid that can be administered is usually insignificant.
