Abstract
Abdominal pelotting was proposed by VL Einis (1927-1928) for additional lifting and limiting the mobility of the diaphragm after phrenicoperation. F.A.Mikhailov (1944) showed the advisability of using abdominal pelotting to neutralize negative intrapleural pressure when preparing a gas bubble for thoracoscopy and thoracocaustics. Subsequently, abdominal pelotting began to be used as an adjunct to pneumoperitoneum.
