Abstract
In 1935 and 1936, Lauber published works in which he expressed his views on the essence of tabetic atrophy of the optic nerves and retinitis pigmentosa. He believes that this suffering is based on arterial hypotension, which leads to a disruption of the normal relationship between diastolic pressure in the central retinal artery and ophthalmotonus.
