Abstract

The conditions of effective use of carbon dioxide! (R744) for heat pumps (HP) are considered on the basis of the analysis of its thermophysical and thermodynamic properties, and the competitiveness of HP on R744 with HP on freons. It is shown that the advantages of R744 are most pronounced in HP of large heat output. The works being carried out for the study of the processes, development of calculation techniques and designing of HP on R744 are reported.
