Abstract

The factors affecting the sintering process for quartz ceramic are examined. The dependence of the post-firing density of blanks on the properties of the quart glass based slip is analyzed. It is proposed that the content of the highly disperse SiO2 particles in the slip affects the properties of the ceramic material. The concept of a colloidal component is described. The particle-size distribution in the colloidal component is analyzed.
