High-quality tools in the machining of commutators

Abstract

The design of tools for machining the commutators of electric motors is considered. To improve machining quality and the productivity of commutator repair, the finishing operations—grinding and polishing—may be replaced by final turning with a cutter sharpened by superblade technology.
