Optimization of dynamic performance for a ground catapult with reusable supply of the working fluid
Abstract
A task of minimizing the guide length of a ground catapult was set in order to ensure the mobility for unmanned aircraft systems. A scheme with reusable supply of the working fluid into the pneumatic drive cylinder was proposed. A method of parametric optimization of dynamic performance for a catapult was formulated. The method and models were verified with respect to the basic integral indicators.

Structural Mechanics and Strength of Flight Vehicles
Analysis of a beam with a crack under irregular cyclic load
Abstract
This paper considers a beam with a technological longitudinal section on the level of the gravity center of the cross section that is loaded by a vertical concentrated force. We study the structure durability depending on the load amplitude and the initial crack length.

Analysis of dynamics of a passive line-of-sight stabilization system with four-axis gimbal suspension
Abstract
A mechanical model of the line-of-sight stabilization system for the optical device mounted on a movable carrier vehicle is considered. The nonlinear Lagrange equations of motion for a four-axis gimbal suspension are derived. Requirements on design and parameters for the passive line-of-sight shock absorption system of the optoelectronic payload are worked out.

Composite model of a research flight simulator for a helicopter with the hingeless main rotor
Abstract
This paper presents a composite model of a flight simulator. This simulator is intended for carrying out investigative tests of flight dynamics imitation models of a hingeless rotor helicopter. A schematic diagram, composition and operation channels of the flight simulator software are presented. A possibility of applying the control lag is estimated.

On a certain approach to modeling aerodynamics and dynamics of spatial motion of single rotor helicopters
Abstract
An approach that can be used for modeling the situation of unanticipated yaw is presented. A software is developed that allows us to obtain the helicopter equilibrium attitude at an arbitrary speed and consider the helicopter dynamics under influence of a certain disturbing factor.

Modeling of helicopter flight imitation in the vortex ring state
Abstract
A method of imitating the helicopter flight on a flight simulator is proposed for the vortex ring state hover flight. Algorithms of artificial neural networks are used for the modeling. The method allows modeling the characteristics of the main rotor's loading during a dangerous descent of the helicopter.

Parabolic convective motion of a fluid cooled from below with the heat exchange at the free boundary
Abstract
In the present study, convective motion of an incompressible viscous fluid in the geometrically anisotropic zone with the lower boundary cooled by a localized point source is considered. The existence of closed isolines for the pressure, counter-current flows in the fluid and localization of thermal layer near the free surface is shown.

A combined method for calculating the trajectories of suspended particles
Abstract
A combined method for calculating the trajectories of suspended particles in the hydrodynamic velocity fields is proposed. The method utilizes capabilities of existing CFD codes and parallel computing on a computer with a graphics card that supports CUDA technology. The software package that implements the method is described.

Model study of conditions, when the reverse jet ingests into the engine input located behind the wing
Abstract
This paper presents the results of the model studies of the reverse jet distribution limits in the air cross-flow, performed in the wind tunnel, as well as the conditions of the jet’s ingestion into the engine air intake in the context of aircraft configuration, when the engines are the input of engines.

Influence of exhaust gas recirculation on technical, economic, and environmental performance of high-uprated diesel aircraft engine
Abstract
This paper considers the problem of reducing the nitrogen oxide emissions in exhaust gases (EG) of the diesel aircraft engine by exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). The main directions in improving a working process of diesel engines with EGR system were formulated.

A combined model of calculating the durability of aircraft engine high speed rolling bearings
Abstract
Based on analyzing the operating conditions for high speed rolling bearings of aircraft engines in a medium of low viscosity fuel components, we substantiated a combined model of calculating the bearing life with respect to two criteria of efficiency, namely, the contact fatigue resistance and wear resistance of their working surfaces. An algorithmic procedure and special features of calculating the durability with respect to these criteria were shown.

The adjustment of discharge and spray in fuel injectors of aircraft engines
Abstract
The paper deals with the technology of adjusting the parameters of injectors operating jointly in fuel supply units of jet and rocket engines. We present the new techniques and devices that are used for adjusting the discharge and spray of components. We developed the technology of combined processing of the flow duct that, for the first time, allowed reducing the area of small-size injector openings and shape the channels with a propelling nozzle configuration.

Aircraft and Rocket Engine Theory
Thermal radiation of heterogeneous combustion products at the nozzle exit of the rocket microengine
Abstract
The paper describes a technique of the integrated research into thermal radiation of heterogeneous combustion products. We have examined the dependence of optical properties, radiation characteristics, and emission characteristics on the key determinant factors and parameters at the nozzle exit of a model rocket microengine. We have compared the experimental spectrum with the calculated spectrum taking into consideration the radiation scattering from the combustion chamber on the condensate particles (the spotlight effect). The correction value for thermodynamic temperature has been found out.

Improving the noise stability of measuring the altitude and speed parameters aboard a helicopter
Abstract
We consider the problem of measuring the altitude and speed parameters aboard a helicopter, as well as ways to improve the noise stability and accuracy of measuring at low and nearzero flight speeds at the expense of using the air flow data of the main rotor vortex column, the principles of complexation and filtering.

Aircraft Production Technology
Study of the kinematics influence of forming the vane channels of axial compressor blisks by a cup mill on the processing accuracy
Abstract
This paper examines how the forming accuracy of the compressor blisk aerodynamic surfaces depends on the number of controlled movements by a cup mill during the processing that is needed to solve the problem of identifying the selection of equipment and manufacturing strategies in the production of the most complex, time-consuming and expensive parts in engine manufacturing.

A technique of finite element analysis for co-curing a composite shell with integral metal part
Abstract
The paper suggests two techniques for analyzing the hybrid metal-composite shell of revolution co-curing. The techniques provide a possibility to assess the stepwise deflected mode and predict the development of possible defects. These techniques were tested by analyzing a hybrid flow splitter case that consists of carbon shell and titanium edge.
