Aims and Scope

The Humanitarian Vector Magazine is a scientific periodical.

The magazine has been published since 1997, and the name and editorial policy have changed in the process. The ideological and conceptual field of the journal is focused on the consideration of the value orientations of modern society – new and traditional, significant not only for the individual and a particular society in different regions, but also for world culture as a whole.

Interdisciplinary research on the socio-cultural practices of different territories in the following scientific fields is welcome: philosophy, history, philology, Oriental studies, media communication and journalism.

The Humanitarian Vector is included in the List of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences in groups of scientific specialties: History, Philosophy, Philology should be published.

 The Humanitarian Vector magazine belongs to the K2 category in accordance with the categorization of journals included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission.

Peer Review Process

To comply with the ethical standards accepted by the international scientific community and to prevent any violation of these standards in the work of the editorial board and in the relations with all participants in the process of scientific publications, a mandatory procedure of reviewing the articles, received by the editorial board is carried out.

The editorial board checks manuscripts for plagiarism and incorrect information using the appropriate software and has the right to refuse to publish articles prepared by unscrupulous authors.

Scientific articles received by the editorial board are considered at the meeting of the editorial board for compliance with the editorial policy and the theme of the journal as well as the scientific profile. The number of reviewers – experts on the subject of the article – is determined.

Articles conforming to the editorial policy are sent for double-blind review (the reviewer and the author of the article have no information about each other). The editorial board ensures the confidentiality of the authors’ material and does not inform anyone about the status of the material in the journal, except the authors. The editorial board also maintains the confidentiality of the reviewers’ personal data.

Reviewing is carried out by external reviewers and members of the editorial board – leading experts on the profile and issues of the article, who have publications on the subject of the reviewed article during the last 3 years.

The reviewer evaluates:

Compliance of the topic of the article with the editorial policy of the journal;

Quality of the abstract (reflection of the main elements of the article in it: relevance, purpose, methods, research results, intended readers interested in the material);

Problem, purpose, objectives. Clarity of the hypothesis and formulation of the research objectives;

Relevance of the subject;

Novelty and originality of the research;

Methodology and research methods;

Rationale, persuasiveness and argumentativeness of the research /conclusions, quality of the problem analysis, logic of the material presentation, indicating the research context, informative literature review, preceding the author’s study of the problem;

Author’s knowledge of scientific literature on the discussed range of problems, including international experience, as well as representativeness of the reference framework of the article;

Practical application of the research results. The presence of the research perspective;

Illustrative purposes of the article: sufficiency of iconic material, correspondence of the tables and figures’ contents to the information presented in the article. Readability of visual material;

Relevance of scientific material to the audience (whether the structure and organization of the manuscript contributes to the perception of the study by the reader);

Author’s style and language peculiarity (lucidity, simplicity, logical presentation, need for additional scientific and literary editing);

The review should contain specific conclusions:

expediency of the publication, taking into account the existing researches on the stated issue;

indication of specific shortcomings of the article, including what corrections and additions can be made by the author;

an opinion on the possibility of publication: “accept for publication”, “finish off the article”, “refuse to publish”.

The review is executed in an appropriate template and signed by the reviewer.

If the reviewers raise questions about the reliability of the data or feasibility of publishing a scientific work, the editorial board provides the author with an opportunity to answer the questions raised.

Terms of reviewing – up to two months after receipt of the article.

Reviews on the received materials are sent to the authors by e-mail.

A positive review is not a sufficient basis for the publication of the article. The editorial board makes the final decision on publication based on the recommendation of several reviewers (in general), as well as guided by the journal policy, taking into account the current legislation in the field of copyright.

In case the article is rejected for publication, the editorial board sends a reasoned refusal to the author. An article not recommended for publication by reviewers will not be accepted for reconsideration. The editorial board agrees to send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation when requested by the editorial board.

After the editorial board makes a decision on the admission of the article for publication, the editorial board informs the author about this and specifies the terms of publication.

The original reviews are stored in the editorial office for 5 years.

Open Access Policy

Идейно-концептуальное поле журнала «Гуманитарный вектор» ориентировано на рассмотрение ценностных ориентиров современного общества – новых и традиционных, значимых не только для личности и конкретного социума разных регионов, но и для мировой культуры в целом.   

Журнал концентрирует своё внимание на исследовании аксиологического вектора и гуманистических трендов развития социумов в условиях вызовов и угроз четвертой технологической (промышленной) революции, кризиса культур и их ценностных оснований, тотальной цифровизации мирового сообщества и рисков расчеловечивания личности. Данные процессы актуализируют значимость использования в социальной практике гуманитарных технологий, берущих своё начало в истории, философии и языковом сознании социума, – как рефлексии материальных и духовных ценностей, когнитивно-ментальных смыслов и моделей поведения личности, как ценностной базы противодействия деструкциям социума.

Языковое и историческое сознание отражают парадигму мышления общества, в которой фиксируется богатый опыт многочисленных поколений и закреплены основные коды конкретной культуры в континууме «прошлое – настоящее – будущее». Средствами трансляции культурной памяти выступают артефакты, исторические реалии, текст, массмедиа.

Журнал приветствует исследования междисциплинарного характера о социокультурных практиках разных территорий по следующим научным направлениям: философия, история, филология, востоковедение, медиакоммуникация и журналистика.

Приоритетные цели редакционной политики:

• Содействие развитию междисциплинарных исследований в области ценностных ориентиров и гуманитарных технологий развития социума, опирающихся на материалы конкретных регионов. Организация плодотворного взаимодействия и обмена исследовательским опытом учёных и практиков России и заинтересованного в данных исследованиях мирового сообщества.

• Соблюдение международных стандартов редакционной этики.

Целевая аудитория журнала:

Журнал «Гуманитарный вектор» адресован широкой научной общественности, преподавателям и учащимся, деятелям культуры и образования – всем, кто обеспокоен вопросами гуманизма в его исконном и фундаментальном статусе, проблемой сохранения культурного многообразия общества, интересуется ментальной картиной мира, знаковыми реалиями разных социумов.

Характеристика контента журнала:

Приоритетными в структуре журнала являются жанры научно-исследовательской статьи, научного сообщения, научного обзора.

Рубрикатор журнала имеет идейно-концептуальную основу, сфокусирован на вопросах аксиологии, культурном коде и гуманитарных технологиях социума. Профильные рубрики журналов инициируют данные обсуждения, как в рамках теории и практики определённой ветви научного знания (философия, история и археология, филология, востоковедение), так и с точки зрения междисциплинарного подхода:

Аксиология культуры. Философия культуры.  Культура и общество. Ментальное и социокультурное пространство региона. Гуманистические тенденции развития общества. Семантика культурного ландшафта.

Археография: культурное наследие. История: смыслы и ценности. События и судьбы (история повседневности). Межкультурное взаимодействие в историческом развитии. Трансграничье в историческом развитии. Байкальский регион в гуманитарном и геополитическом измерении. Археология: истоки культуры. Археография: культурные коды Азии, Культура древних городов.

В жанре научного комментария работает рубрика «Угол зрения», позволяющая обозначить оригинальный взгляд известного исследователя на неоднозначные вопросы современной науки. Заключительная в журнале рубрика «Люди. События. Время» посвящена биографии известных учёных, итогам научно-практических конференций. Звенящая струна: душа учёного (поэтическая рубрика памяти выпускающего редактора Галии Дуфаровны Ахметовой).
