Peer Review Process
The editors accept for publication original articles that have not yet been published or reviewed in other publications. The proposed articles must correspond to the main scientific areas of the journal. The authors are fully responsible for the content of the materials, the accuracy of the translation of abstracts, citations, and bibliographic information.
Manuscripts for publication are accepted in electronic form. The text of the article, from 15,000 to 40,000 printed characters with spaces, formatted in accordance with the requirements of the journal, should be sent to the editors (399770, Lipetsk region, Yelets, Kommunarov str., 28, editorial office of the journal "Continuum. Mathematics. Computer science. Education") or by e-mail secretary@continuum-journal.ru . Authors can also send the manuscript to the editor in person. The formatting rules are described in the article template. After receiving the manuscript, the responsible secretary of the journal organizes:
primary verification of the manuscript for compliance with the main scientific areas of the journal and the rules of design; verification of the manuscript in the Antiplagiat system to establish originality. The originality of the text should be at least 85%, taking into account correct borrowing and self-citation, which should be formatted with references to sources.
If the article does not correspond to the subject of the journal or the requirements for the research and design of the article, the author is sent a reasoned refusal.
Then the responsible secretary sends the scientific article to the reviewer. A blind method is used during reviewing (the reviewer does not receive information about the authors of the manuscript, the authors of the manuscript do not receive information about the reviewers).
Reviewing of articles is carried out by members of the editorial board, as well as invited reviewers - recognized experts in the field of peer-reviewed materials, who have published work on the topic of the peer-reviewed articles over the past 3 years. The decision to select a particular reviewer to consider the article is made by the editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief. The review period is 2-4 weeks, but it can be extended at the reviewer's request. Each reviewer has the right to refuse to review in the event of an obvious conflict of interest that may affect the perception and interpretation of the manuscript materials. Based on the results of reviewing the manuscript, the reviewer makes recommendations regarding the future fate of the article (each reviewer's decision is substantiated):
the article is recommended for publication in its current form;
the article is recommended for publication after eliminating the deficiencies noted by the reviewer, without additional verification;
the article could not be published.
The editors of the journal send the text of the reviews to the author. If there are recommendations for revising the manuscript, the editors suggest taking them into account when preparing a new version of the manuscript or reasonably (partially or completely) refuting them. Revision of the article should not take more than 2 months from the moment the authors are sent an e-mail about the need to make changes. The article revised by the author is re-submitted for review.
If the authors refuse to make changes to the materials, they must notify the editors in writing or orally about the withdrawal of the article from consideration. Editors will be forced to withdraw the manuscript from consideration if the authors do not provide a corrected version of the manuscript within 3 months from the date of sending the editors a message about the results of the manuscript review by the reviewers with recommendations for making changes. In such cases, the authors are sent a corresponding notification about the withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration due to the expiration of the period allotted for making changes.
If the author and reviewers have irreconcilable disagreements regarding the manuscript, the editorial board, in agreement with the editors and the editor-in-chief, may send the manuscript for additional review. In conflict situations, the decision to publish the manuscript is made by the editor-in-chief at a meeting of the editorial board.
The decision to refuse to publish the manuscript is made at a meeting of the editorial board in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers. An article that is not recommended for publication by the editorial board is not accepted for re-consideration. A notice of refusal to publish and removal of the manuscript from consideration is sent to the author by e-mail; the letter contains reviews and reasons for refusing to publish.
After the editorial board of the journal makes a decision to publish an article, it informs the author about it and specifies the terms of publication.
The presence of a positive review is not a sufficient basis for publishing the article.
The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board. In controversial situations, the decision is made by the editor-in-chief.
Reviews are stored at the publisher and in the editorial office of the publication for 5 years.
The editorial board undertakes to send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request to the editorial office of the publication.
