Abstract
Based on the fact that color can perform two functions (signal and emotional) we assume that these two above-mentioned functions can form the basis for teaching musical notation to preschool children. The article presents a description of software used in the process of mastering musical notation by preschoolers based on the use of the signal function of color music. This software product is based on the algorithm for matching color and localizing a specific note on the staff. The program “Musical Rainbow” first developed by us is written in the Python 3 programming language and offers real-time sound visualization with the option to select an audio device or visualize sound from an audio file. The practical use of the proposed program is implemented gradually.
