Abstract
The latest studies of socio-regional English language variation identify the prevalence of accent bias in the UK. British people tend to downgrade regional and working-class accents and upgrade the standard accent Received Pronunciation historically perceived as more prestigious. The present study intends to identify the perceptions of EFL students from Russia regarding different accents of British English.
