Abstract
this article is about political discourse, which is currently becoming increasingly important, as it is used in modern politics to maintain power, promote ideology and manipulate public opinion to achieve certain goals. The article discusses various strategies and tactics of discourse to convince the audience, such as visual and expressive linguistic means, which create a favorable image of political power. In this regard, special attention is paid to the role of rhetorical techniques and strategies, such as the use of metaphors, epithets, hyperboles, as well as the intensification of speech through emotional coloring. The author analyzes the ways of positioning a leader and a political force through narratives that form trust, solidarity and a sense of legitimacy among the audience. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the identification of linguistic means of implementing manipulative influence based on D. Trump's recent speeches. In the course of the research, the main functions of linguistic means in political discourse were identified. They consist of influencing the audience, manipulating the consciousness of the electorate, and establishing a closer connection between the politician and the audience. The purpose of such an analysis is to identify the mechanisms of influence and propose a critical methodology for evaluating the texts of political discourse in order to understand how images of power are formed in the modern information field.
