Abstract

The review has summed up the 11th International Conference of Asian Studies (ICAS-11), one of the largest international forums of Orientalists, held in Leiden (the Netherlands) 16-20 July 2019. The review focuses on an independent part of the forum - the 11th international conference on “Vietnam in Europe, Europe in Vietnam”. The author characterizes the European scientific framework of the conference, the vector and areas of Vietnamese studies within it, the subjects of research work and the political agenda of the participants, the events that accompanied the conference sessions under “Engaging with Vietnam” platform (EWV). The content of the ICAS-11 session, where the author of the review delivered his report and discussed various aspects of the economic development of Indochina countries and India, is presented too.
