Abstract
the article analyzes the methodology of case technologies in the higher education system. The case study method is a participatory and discussion—based learning method in which students acquire critical thinking, communication and group dynamics skills and develop a number of key competencies. Compared with other forms of research, the case study method is primarily a qualitative and intelligence-based research approach that promotes understanding. The case study method provides effective learning tools for transferring academic and professional knowledge to students. Its advantages are largely related to redefining the relationship between teachers and students: the role of the teacher is to share the case, set expectations, provide instructions and assign the roles of students in the discussion. The case study method combines cognitive and affective learning modes, which helps to make knowledge more memorable and accessible to extract.
