Abstract
New N-glycosyl carbohydrazide derivatives and their annulated C-nucleosides have been synthesized via reaction of N-[4-(hydrazinecarbonyl)phenyl]-8-hydroxy-7-iodoquinoline-5-sulfonamide with different aldoses and characterized by spectroscopic and elemental analyses. Some selected compounds have been screened for activity and 4d showed maximum antimicrobial activity comparable to that of standard drugs.
