The peer-reviewed scientific and methodological journal “Humanities and Education” has been published since 2010.

The founder of the journal is the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education "Mordovian State Pedagogical University named after M. E. Evseviev".

By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia, since February 2011 it has been included in the List of leading Russian peer-reviewed journals and publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the academic degrees of candidate and doctor of sciences should be published. It is included in the RSCI database (agreement No. 282-12/2010 dated 14.01. 2011), indexed in the international databases UlrichsWeb Global Serials Directory, InfoBase Index, CiteFactor. Crossref acts as the DOI registrar for scientific publications.

In terms of frequency, this is a quarterly publication (four issues per year). Initially, the editor-in-chief of the journal was V. V. The journal is the most important tool for professional training and improving the pedagogical skills of specialists in the field of humanities and education. Its pages reflect priority topics for the humanities, develop topical issues of fundamental sciences, raise and solve significant theoretical and methodological and scientific and methodological problems of general secondary, secondary vocational and higher vocational education. The main objective of the journal is their responsible and competent information support. Much attention is paid to the experience of implementing innovative trends in pedagogy. The editorial policy is based on modern legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright, legality and plagiarism set out in Russian legislation, and ethical principles supported by the community of leading publishers of scientific periodicals.

The volume and headings vary depending on the content and subject matter of the received material.

In 2010–2014 the journal published materials mainly under the headings “Pedagogy”, “Psychology”, “Philosophy”, “History”, and “Philology”. A number of issues included the headings “Special Pedagogy”, “Cultural Studies”, “Jurisprudence”. There was a heading for young researchers Aspirants.

From 2015 to No. 2 2018, materials were located in the areas of "Pedagogical Sciences", "Philological Sciences", "Historical Sciences and Archeology".

From No. 2 2018 to the present, the journal invites authors to publish their articles under the headings "Pedagogy", "History", "Linguistics".

From 2010 to the present, authors can publish reviews, comments on any scientific and technical events, etc. in the section "Reviews, information, opinions".
