Resumo
The article focuses on teaching a second foreign language in a linguistic university and draws attention to the specific characteristics of this course. From the author’s point of view, the main specificity of mastering a second foreign language, in comparison with the first foreign language, is associated with the changing nature of interlanguage interaction, during which not two, but three language systems participate. In these conditions, the main task of the methodology of teaching a second foreign language is to identify and take into account the specific features arising from the patterns of interaction of the three linguistic cultures involved in communication.
