Due to the active development of digital technologies and the availability of electronic learning tools, online courses are getting very popular. This trend is also reflected in foreign language education. The article gives an overview of online foreign language courses on open Russian and foreign educational platforms, as well as on the websites of leading Russian universities in order to assess the potential of online courses as a tool for teaching foreign languages and the possibility of their integration into the educational process.

The Specifics of the Second Foreign Language as an Academic Discipline in a Linguistic University
摘要
The article focuses on teaching a second foreign language in a linguistic university and draws attention to the specific characteristics of this course. From the author’s point of view, the main specificity of mastering a second foreign language, in comparison with the first foreign language, is associated with the changing nature of interlanguage interaction, during which not two, but three language systems participate. In these conditions, the main task of the methodology of teaching a second foreign language is to identify and take into account the specific features arising from the patterns of interaction of the three linguistic cultures involved in communication.

Linguistic and Stylistic Features of an English Audiodescriptive Commentary
摘要
The article examines the English audiodescriptive text from the point of view of its linguistic parameters on the lexical, grammatical and syntactic levels. Relying on the English-language audiodescription standards, the author analyzes three English audiodescriptive commentaries of audiovisual objects of different types. The analysis shows how the interaction of linguistic elements at different levels affects the accessibility of audiovisual works for the blind and visually impaired people.

Developing Student Intercultural Competence Through Methodological Collaboration Between Foreign Language Tutors

The authors suggest introducing a shared approach into the foreign languages teaching process. The proposed approach is aimed at the development of intercultural competence and is based on common goals and objectives, thematic planning of taught disciplines, as well as a shared language-teaching approach. Such collaboration is possible due to close partnership between foreign language tutors. The article describes the experience of this collaboration.

Making a Translation Textbook for a Rare Language: Typology of Exercises

This article summarizes the work, conducted by the team of authors from MSLU, namely prof. Dina Nikoulitcheva and young teachers Anastasia Skachkova and Aleksandra Lipacheva on designing a modern textbook on Danish translation, which could serve as teaching materials for the training of translators in Russian universities. The article substantiates the structural organization of lessons and offers an overview of the types of exercises used, indicating the methodological focus of each type on the development of certain translation skills and abilities.

The article deals with the role of gamification in the lessons of Spanish as a second foreign language in primary school with the aim of developing reading skills. The article provides a number of exercises meant to develop skimming, scanning and detailed reading skills. The article suggests introducing storytelling as an effective method of promoting students’ reading skills and motivating them to do more reading.

There is no theoretical substantiation for technological formation of skills for positive and correct verbal and non-verbal interaction of students representing different cultures at the university. Technology of training intercultural interaction in a team of regional studies students in Spanish has been modeled, providing for integration of collective, cooperative and collaborative models, taking into account specifics of policy and culture of the countries of the target language.

Animalisms in Forming the Image of Politician (based on German and English journalistic discourse)
摘要
Traditionally animalisms are widely used in press to influence the reader. The article defines the notion of “animalism”, looks at the main functions of animalisms and underlines their special role in revealing the cultural code hidden in the language. It is assumed that contrastive approach plays a significant role in foreign language classes. Analysis and comparison of animalisms in English and German journalistic discourse shows how contrastive approach helps to form a secondary language identity, diminishes interference and contributes to the positive transfer phenomenon.

Terminological culture of a teacher is a developing concept of pedagogy of vocational education. The selected structural components of this concept were expressed in a figurative form in a model, which is an example of material representation of the abstract term content. The model was used during a seminar for teachers. The participants noticed it as a memorable way of explaining the information.

Applying end-to-end technologies in teaching a foreign language in cooperation

The article is devoted to the topical issue of end-to-end cloud tools into the educational process built on the concept of learning in cooperation. The analysis of these technologies, the pros and cons of their use in the educational process is presented as well as the construction of a learning model using end-to-end cloud technologies selected as a result of the analysis is described. Eventually the author presents the results of the experiment and provides brief recommendations for their implementation in the process of teaching a foreign language.

The article looks at several approaches to the definition of ‘speech error’ introduced by Russian and foreign experts and describes the error taxonomies which are based on different criteria. The author emphasizes the importance of relying on an error taxonomy that would take all the aspects of a speech error into consideration and serve as a basis for teaching recommendations on how to improve foreign language teachers’ evaluation and correction skills.

Individual psychological characteristics of personality of female managers
摘要
The article presents the results of a study of individual psychological characteristics of personality of female managers, distinguishing them from women who do not hold leadership positions. The empirical study involved 78 people; personal characteristics were studied using the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire by R. Cattell. Significant differences in personality traits between the two groups of subjects have been identified in seven factors.

Impact of Exposure to Screen Violence Scenes on the Emotional Sphere of High School Students with Different Gender Identities

The article discusses the impact of viewing videos of aggression and violence on the emotional sphere of boys and girls with different gender identities. Data on the negative impact of these videos on the emotional state of boys and girls was confirmed. The results of the experimental study made it possible to establish significant differences in the change in the emotional state of high school students in accordance with the indicators of their gender identity.

This article deals with the importance of differentiation of crimes in criminal law. The article discusses the historical basis for categorising crimes according to their degree and nature of public danger. It also draws attention to a number of problems in the system of categorisation of crimes in criminal law of the Russian Federation. In particular, a number of proposals for improving this system in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation are considered.
