Abstract

the research relevance is due to the growing demand for highly qualified specialists with knowledge of professional English in various fields of activity. The development of international projects and cross-border cooperation, as well as the integration of Russian companies into the international community, involve the formation of a competitive workforce capable of effectively communicating in English in professional situations. The research goal presented in the article is to theoretically substantiate the effectiveness of the use of game technologies in teaching professional English. The following objectives were solved in the study: the analysis of theoretical and methodological aspects of the use of game technologies in teaching foreign languages, in particular professional English; the features of the formation of professional communication skills in English are revealed; experimentally tested effectiveness of the game method in the conditions of the educational process. The research methodology includes a theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the topic of the study, generalization and systematization of the data obtained, as well as the method of expert assessments in the format of an in-depth interview. As a result, the following conclusions were formulated: game technologies allow you to adapt the learning process to the individual needs of students; create practice-oriented learning materials; to identify the main areas of application of gamification in teaching professional English.
