Abstract

improving the level of coordination of basketball players is one of the main factors in the competitive activity of athletes. The article describes a comprehensive approach to the development of coordination skills of student basketball players using Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi Chuan (Tai Chi) is a type of Wushu. Due to the fact that the focus of Tai Chi is shifted from improving combat applied techniques (external work) towards self-knowledge of a person, managing his own psyche and physiological processes (internal work), Tai Chi Chuan is considered an internal martial art. Including Tai Chi Chuan exercises in the training process will improve coordination, balance and control of movements in student basketball players. The study involved 20 student basketball players, divided into two groups: experimental and control. Research methods included analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical testing, methods of mathematical statistics. The results showed that the experimental group participants who performed Tai Chi exercises experienced a 15% improvement in coordination, a 12% improvement in balance, and a 10% improvement in movement accuracy.
