The Linguocultural Aspect of Teaching Reading Skills in a Foreign Language
Abstract
Studying a foreign linguoculture begins with the perception of linguistic and cultural information, primarily in the process of reading, as the text is not only a cultural phenomenon, but also a guardian of culture, a form of its existence and therefore requires understanding both at the level of language and at the level of culture. One of the ways to implement the linguocultural approach to teaching analytical reading at the advanced level of a linguistic university is the linguocultural analysis of the text, which is regarded as one of the most effective means of interpreting linguistic and cultural phenomena, identifying cultural discrepancies, comparing traditions and values of different cultures, and adequately perceiving foreign language speech acts.
