The article discusses the point of view that the constructions, which include the predicative adverbial participle with the suffix -mshi, are not directly deduced from the accusativus cum participio. Sometimes they are a contamination of two predicative constructions, and sometimes the adverbial participle functions as an adverbial modifier of an attendant state; in the latter case the adverbial participle has also a correlation with the object, so that the object can be interpreted as a subject experiencing some state as a result of previous actions.

The article looks at Romanic lexical units in the discourse of internet memes. The research is new and relevant because there is a strong need to analyse foreign words in semiotically hybrid discourses, in particular, in mini format discourse such as internet memes. Besides, the discursive features of internet memes are not fully examined. The research shows that Romanic lexical units have a rich stylistic potential, special pragmatic functions and can generate a humorous effect.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution of the “Code of Honor of a knight” in the XIV century on the material of the work of Tomaso Saluzzo “Chevalier errant”. The research material is of particular interest, since the work was created at the intersection of two cultures (French and Italian) and epochs (the Middle Ages and the Renaissance). The emergence of the cultural phenomenon of vanitas significantly influenced the perception of the ideals of chivalry. The moral stereotypes of the XIV century are verbalized in the text of the work by various linguistic means. The purpose of the article is to identify and describe the evaluation structures that form the specifics of the”Knight’s Code of Honor”.

Dans l’article on étudie l’intégrité linguistique et la stabilité sociale de l’expression «La promesse de Gascon». Le but de cet article est d’enrichir les connaissances de la culture linguistique de la Gascogne et de montrer comment grâce à la conservation dans la langue de certaines expressions stables se manifestent les particularités de la mentalité des groupes sociaux correspondants, notamment l’attitude du groupe de Gascons envers la notion “La promesse”.

The article offers a review of peculiarities of the use of numeratives (classifiers) in the Persian and Russian military sublanguages. The study also presents a comparative analysis of their usage in different fields of the Persian and Russian military sublanguages. This article deals with the definition of discursive features in professional film criticism, as well as with the identification of general trends in the development of professional film discourse in France. The latter is presented in both specialized and non-specialized journals. In this article, it is considered in terms of its genre and thematic specificity, its dependence on the multifaceted nature of specialized journals, their commitment to a certain aesthetic position, and their usually conservative attitude towards the Internet and digital technologies. Some features of film discourse at the speech level are also highlighted. The author associated general trends in the development of modern professional film discourse with the ever-increasing role of the commercial component in publishing and the ideologization of professional press in cinema.

The article deals with features of English loanwords used in the articles on the 2022 French presidential and legislative elections. The main types and functions of loan words are analyzed based on Anglicisms and Americanisms from “L’Obs” magazine. The analysis shows that loan words are generally used as a means of nomination and evaluation. Stylistic devices based on English and American loan words contributing to the expressiveness of the text are considered.

The research is devoted to the acute problem of the dialectics of conception and implementation in literary work on the basis of Th. Mann’s «The Magic Mountain», one of the key «intellectual» novels of the first half of the 20th century. Unknown archival materials are being introduced into the Russian literary studies - the so-called «Yale» manuscript of the German classic’s work. As a result, additional light is shed on the genre specifics of the novel, as well as on the nature of the evolution of the protagonist’s image.

The relevance of the study is due to the interest of modern literary criticism in Russian modernism. The literature of the 20th century is characterized by the intensification of the processes of convergence of various generic principles. The article attempts to reveal the originality of artistic synthesis in the novel prose of Gaito Gazdanov. Artistic translation concerns not only language aspects, but also extremely intricate components of culture: clothing, food, beliefs, value systems, ways of thinking, and much more. Ethnic and cultural differences influence all aspects of the language. So, there are often cultural gaps in artistic translation. In this article, based on the theory of cultural lacunas put forward by Russian and Chinese scholars, the translation of cultural lunes from Chinese into Russian is investigated on the material of V. M. Alexeev’s translations of Liao Zhai Zhiyi. Compensatory tactics of lacunas in the spheres of material, regime and spiritual culture are analyzed, pluses and minuses of translation are noted, and appropriate compensatory tactics are proposed.

The article deals with one of the last novels of the American beatnik writer Jack Kerouac “Satori in Paris” as a work in which the author turns his trip to France in order to find the origins of his ancestral roots into an existential adventure. The attempt to find an identity for the writer becomes both an occasion for creativity and a “spoken” literary work (A. P. Bondarev) which unpredictably turns into one of the bright pages of his biography and fate.

The article investigates the phenomenon of asymmetry as the objective reason of the intercultural communication problem. The cultural pragmatic potential capacity of the word accounts for the asymmetry of cultural signs perception and interpretation, since country-specific meanings are subject to conflicting interpretations in different cultural contexts. The cultural sign pragmatics exhibits elevated uncertainty and interpretative variability. Terminological synonymy and meanings blends complicate the dialog of cultures analysis.

The article is devoted to the study of the role of the personality of the Princess from Kievan Rus, Anna Yaroslavna, in the historical connection between Russia and France. Based on the analysis of texts of medieval Latin documents, the study of the works of modern Russian and foreign cultural scientists and historians, Anna Yaroslavna's activities in the field of politics, culture and charity are considered. The author establishes the nature of the influence on the spiritual life of medieval France of the first Slavic queen, who laid the foundations of the cultural dialogue between the Russian and French peoples.
