Discourse as a Linguistic Realization of Narrative: Rhizomatic and Intermediality Approaches
Resumo
The purpose of this research is to analyze the linguistic representation of the tax narrative in the space of media discourse. The research material was French media texts containing expressions of anti-tax semantics of anti-tax semantics by Nicolas Pays. When working with the material, methods of continuous sampling and definitional analysis, as well as elements of discourse analysis, were used. As a result of the study, it was found that the tax narrative is realized through the representation of an imaginary viral image of Nicolas, personifying French tax fatigue. The anthropomorphic representation of an economic problem grows in the space of media discourse like a rhizome, capturing other discursive practices based on the phenomenon of intermediality.

Mediatization of “Patriotism” Concept as a Factor in Creating a Unified Value-Orientational Space
Resumo
The study describes the mechanisms of mediatization of the linguocultural concept “Patriotism”. The focus of the analysis is on mechanisms of positivization and derogativization of interpretation in Russian media space. Based on the convergence of dialectical-relational, conceptual and content analysis illocutions and techniques for modifying the value-orientation space are identified. The components of the actual, interpretative and motivational layers, the retrotopic nature of the association of modern situations with precedent phenomena of the Great Patriotic War, factors of ideologizing the verbalizers of the concept “Patriotism” are specified. Retrotopic association and strategy for promotion related to the pole of “us” are the basis for positivization. The genitive metaphor of postpositional nomination of patriotism, synesthesia of mental-affective and somatic codes and neologization of composite derivation with negative semantics build basis for derogativization. The results of this study expand the concepts of pertinence-relevance correspondence within deep mediatization.

The authors view gestures as an important element of spoken interaction, emphasizing their key role not only in nonverbal communication but also in the structure of sign languages. The purpose of the article is to review current trends in multimodal research, with particular attention to the comparison of gestures in the languages of the deaf and co-speech gestures in spoken languages. The article also presents several gesture types and examines their role and interaction in communication. Special focus is placed on the differences between gestures as extralinguistic means (in both spoken and sign languages) and gestures as part of linguistic systems. Polysemy as a Subjective Characteristic of a Word
Resumo
The purpose of this study is to identify the subjectivity of perceiving the same lexeme as monosemantic or polysemantic. The authors suggest that it is impossible to reliably determine whether a specific word is polysemantic due to the fact that in the mental lexicon of different native speakers, lexemes can be represented as either an invariant or a plurality of meanings. This was tested using German lexemes by analyzing their lexical-semantic variants in the Duden, DWDS, and Wahrig dictionaries, compiling their semantic invariants, and interviewing native German speakers. The results of all stages of the study allow us to conclude that the semantic invariant is a possible way for native speakers to interpret word meaning, alongside the polysemantic model. The semantic invariant offers a practical solution for lexicography and language teaching by simplifying the acquisition of meanings through the demonstration of their common core.

Linguocultural and Conceptual Parameters of Euphemism in the Modern Italian Language
Resumo
The aim of the work is to identify and describe the linguistic parameters of euphemization, as well as to reconstruct conceptual models in the semantics of differently structured euphemistic units that are used in modern Italian to nominate a number of taboo concepts. The methods of conceptual analysis, the hypothetical-deductive method, the method of definitional analysis, and the method of cultural interpretation of units are used. It is shown that within the traditional fields of euphemistic nomination, metaphorical models should be recognized as the leading conceptual models, while metonymic concepts are the most active in modern politically correct fields.

Linguocognitive Mechanisms of Idiom Creativity in Modern English Phraseology in the Perspective of Discursive Interpretation of Knowledge
Resumo

The study is focused on the linguocognitive mechanisms that underlie the formation and renovation of English idiomatic neologisms that stem from codified idioms selected from modern media discourse. Cognitive modeling of their semantics shows that idiom creativity manifests the interpretative function of language, for renovation of phraseology serves to reform knowledge structures in accordance with man’s cognitive experience; it also entails further condensation of information conveyed by the idiomatic units in discourse.

This material is considered as one of the types of media discourse aimed not only at informing the reader, but also at forming his point of view. The continuous sampling method made it possible to identify the most frequent structural and semantic types of nominative sentences peculiar to this media genre. For the first time, the conditionality of each type of nominative construction was revealed both by solving certain macrostructural tasks (tasks of logical and thematic organization of the work) and the pragmatic task of argumentative influence on the reader.

Chinese Poems by N. S. Gumilev: Reminiscences from Theophile Gautier
Resumo
The purpose of the study is to identify reminiscences from T. Gautier’s poetry and prose in N. S. Gumilyov’s poems dedicated to China. The article uses structural verse analysis (to identify the themes, motifs, and images of the poems) and comparative analysis (to compare the poems). The research material includes N. S. Gumilyov’s poems: "I Believed, I Thought...", "The Chinese Girl", the cycle "The Porcelain Pavilion", and the poem "Two Dreams". As a result of the research, the above-mentioned works revealed images and epithets that are reminiscences from the poem "Chinoiserie" and the short story "Le Рavillon sur l’eau" by T.Gautier: a Chinese girl, a gazebo (pavilion) on the water, birds, flowers, porcelain, red and yellow, – and the motif of stylization, the "toyiness" of China, which also comes from T. Gautier.
